Country value proposition – Kazakhstan is strategically located between China and Europe, linking trade between the East and West. Since its independence in 1991, the growth of trade and infrastructure in the country has fueled economic development in the region.
Today, it plays an important role in the Belt Road Initiative, which serves as a catalyst for further urban and transportation development. Key infrastructure developments required in the country includes clean energy, water, waste management, transportation and logistics, smart cities, etc. The major cities of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent has been the centre of domestic migration where the demand for urban master planning and sustainable development is a key focus for the Kazakhstan Government.
